Ruth May Ford was born on December 3, 1935, in Kilgore, Texas, she was the daughter of Tenner Johnson and Pastor A.J. Johnson. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Ford, siblings Annie May Bryson, Timothy Johnson, and Clementine "Dolly" Johnson, and granddaughter Benae Lane. She is survived by her sister Ester Pollard of Kilgore, TX. Ruth attended C.B. Dansby and spent her life as an entrepreneur of various businesses, including a beauty salon, a boutique, and a local bakery by the name of Flake 'N Nut. She is survived by her children: Linda Ruth Jackson of Dallas, TX., Benjamin Lee Lane Jr. (Jackie Lane) of Chesapeake, VA., Arsetta Ann Lane of Kilgore, TX., and Yolonda Ford Pope of Atlanta, GA.
Ruth’s legacy continues through her grandchildren Tori Henderson of Mesquite, TX., Tiffany Porter (Sam Porter) of Fort Worth, TX., Roy Haynes Jr., Billy Joe Jackson Jr., Kme Walton of Dallas, TX., Jordy Pope of Atlanta, GA., Jakira Lane of Chesapeake, VA., and John Pope II of Atlanta, GA.
