Walter Elder

Walter was born on March 31, 1949, the son of the late Lonnie and Ethel Elder. At an early age he became a member of County Line Church of the Living God PGT. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1967, attended Tyler Jr. College where he received his certification in Medical Administration. He attended Kilgore College, and obtained a Dietetic Food Service Supervisor Certification, later he enrolled at Texas College of Tyler, Texas, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in which he graduated with honors.

He was predeceased in death by his loving mother Ethel Elder, father Lonnie Elder Sr., and brother Lonnie Elder Jr.

He leaves astonishing memories to be cherished by his sisters, Fayerine Elder and Virrine Elder of Tyler, Texas, Luciel & Theophilus Gordon, and Linda Elder of Deltona, Flordia. Brothers L.T. Elder of Kilgore, Texas, Elder James and Sandra Elder of Lake Port, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

At the age of eighteen he became a loyal and faithful musician at Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church and remained until his transition.

His sweet music, beautiful voice, gentle smile, and bold laughter will be remembered always; although he is no longer with us, his memory will bring joy and mirth to those who knew him.
