Walter Dorsey

Walter Dorsey was born May 17, 1944 to James Dorsey Sr. and Christiana Mackey Dorsey. He attended and graduated from Stanton School. He went on to enlist and serve in the United States Army for two years.

Upon returning home he gained employment with Whitehouse (Austin) Bank. From there he went on to work at La Gloria Oil and Gas where he retired after 31 years of service.

Walter gave his WHOLE Heart to Lula Mae Gant in the year 1979. They went on to wed the 20th day of July 1984. He also gained a “bonus” daughter Tiffanie Viola Gant at age 3.

He is preceded in death by his father James Dorsey Sr., mother Christiana Mackey Dorsey, brothers James Dorsey Jr., Wilbert Dorsey, L.D. Dorsey, and Tommie Dorsey, sisters Mildred Willis, and LaJoyce Ervin.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his wife of 40 years, Lula Gant-Dorsey; “bonus” daughter Tiffanie Viola Gant; one sister Jettie Smith; one brother Billy Ray Dorsey; sister-in-law’s Maxine Dorsey and  Ann Dorsey; brother-in-law’s Robert Willis and Charlie Ervin; brother & sister-in-law’s Nathaniel & Bertha Montgomery of Oro Valley, AZ., Eugene & Doris Gant of Tucson, AZ., Ronnie Gant of Eloy, AZ., Vernita Gant of Eloy AZ., and Larry Gene Gant of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren Jordan Smith Sr. (Mia) of Whitehouse, TX, Jacob Gant of Eloy, AZ, Jayla & Janita Thomas of Eloy, AZ; great-grandchildren Jordan Smith Jr. & Siaani Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, and friends.
