Sylvia Randall Clark
Sylvia Randall Clark, born on January 4, 1935, in Rusk County, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was the cherished daughter of Mr. Johnny Randall, Sr. and Mrs. Lomie Randall, who instilled in her the values of faith, family, and perseverance that guided her throughout her life.
Sylvia received her early education in Kilgore, Texas, and proudly graduated from C.B. Dansby High School. Her commitment to faith began at a young age when she was baptized at Harmony Pirtle Baptist Church. As she grew in her spiritual walk, she later moved her membership to Center Point Church of God in Christ, where she served faithfully for many years, including in the role of church secretary.
On July 31, 1954, Sylvia entered holy matrimony with Willie L. Clark. Their union was blessed with six children—three girls and three boys—and later expanded through the loving adoption of one grandchild. Sylvia and Willie shared 57 beautiful years of marriage, built on faith, devotion, and family, until his passing.
Later in life, Sylvia married George Dixon, Jr., who preceded her in death.
Sylvia’s professional life reflected her strength and leadership. She worked at Kilgore Manufacturing, where she served as Union Chair Lady, advocating for fairness and respect in the workplace. Her entrepreneurial spirit later flourished through several ventures, including her adult foster care home, “Home of TLC,” where she provided compassionate care to those in need. She also became widely known for “Cakes by Sylvia,” delighting countless people with her world‑renowned sweet potato pie, 7‑Up pound cake, and chocolate sheet cake—recipes that became treasured family traditions.
Sylvia loved bringing people together. Her backyard became the heart of countless family gatherings—joyful celebrations that often spanned as many as five generations. She took great pride in hosting dinner guests, finding deep satisfaction in watching others enjoy the meals she lovingly prepared. Feeding people was one of her love languages, and her table was always a place of comfort, laughter, and connection.
Beyond her work and hospitality, Sylvia embraced life with joy and curiosity. She loved tending to her yard, finding peace and pride in nurturing the beauty around her. Some of her happiest moments were spent traveling on cross‑country girls’ trips with her daughters and daughters‑in‑law, journeys that took them from the mountains of Arizona to the snowy landscapes of the Catskills. In her later years, she found great joy in cheering on her great‑grandson Jayden at his football and basketball games and track meets, often accompanied by her beloved Silver Slippers crew.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson, and one great-great grandson. She leaves to cherish her memory seven children Delaney Clark-Dudley of Longview, TX, Willie Clark Jr. of Desoto, TX, Judy Clark-Knight of Missouri City, TX, Ronnie Clark (Angela) of Houston, TX, Stacy Trishell (Ronnie) of Fresno, TX, Randy Clark (Janet) of Houston, TX, Whitney Clark of Kilgore, TX along with twenty grandchildren, thirty-five great‑grandchildren, eighteen great‑great‑grandchildren, extended family, and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Sylvia’s presence was a gift—steady, loving, and full of grace. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the faith she carried with her every step of the way.
