Samuel L. Porter

Samuel L. Porter was born to Sallie B. Porter and Samuel L. Jackson on March 29, 1956 in Smith County.

At the age of six months he caused joy to come into the life of Kelly and Geraldine Jackson being the son they always wanted.

He attended and graduated from Kilgore High School where he was very active in track, setting and breaking records.

He met and married Lois Elder. He joined Easton Church of Christ and was an active member until he moved away.

He is preceded in death by his birth parents Sallie B. Porter and Samuel Jackson, father that raised him Kelly Jackson, brother Lee, niece Keycier Moody and nephew J.B. Moody III. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Lois; his God given mother Geraldine "Madea" Jackson, sister, Bobbie Moss, Carrie Jackson of Kilgore, TX, Callie Jackson of Longview, TX and Denise Jackson of California; brothers, Johnny Ed, Curtis and Dennis all of California; stepsons who cherished and loved him, Larry (Mary Ann), Brian (Jerrilyn) and Nate Hailey all of Corsicana, TX; a precious young lady, Kirsti Hailey who loved and cared for him and lovingly called him Uncle Sammie; mother-in-law, Johnnie Byers of Houston, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins, and friends.
