Ruben Sheffield

Reuben Sheffield was born September 24, 1933 in Rusk County, Texas to the late Alonzo and Lois Sheffield. On Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 11:24 p.m. he departe this world. He attended Rusk County public schools. He later joined the United States Army where he served his country for two years. He married Sandra Williams on January 21, 1974. Three children were born to this union.
He was a member of Church of the Living God for several years before he joined New Holy Chapel C.O.G.I.C. and later with his wife moved membership to Waters Temple C.O.G.I.C. where he ramained until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Allen Ray Sheffield, Allen Roy Sheffield, James Sheffield, Lonzo Sheffield II, and Ermell Sheffield; sisters, Ernestine Smith and Clara Cameron.
He is survived by, a loving wife, Sandra Sheffield, his children of this union, LaTrese Sheffield, Anetra Page (Grafton), and Derrick Sheffield (Nicole). He also leaves his stepchildren from a previous marriage, Denise Polite (Greg), Ronnie Taylor, and Faye Sanders (Roy); brothers, J.B. Sheffield (Carolyn), and Wesley Sheffield Sr.(Sherrie); sister Erma Jean Hicks; sister-in-law, Alvera Sheffield; his grandchildren, Tyrese, Khalil, and Kingston; step-grandchildren, Hilary, Breon, Braylon, and Anayia, and a host of other relatives and friends.
