Roger Timms

On September 3, 1941, Roger was born to the union of The Late Phillip Timms and Celeste Arnold Timms. At an early age he joined Mt. Zion CME church, and later in life he united with Westview Church Of Christ on December 13, 1998.
Raised in Smith County he attended Dunbar Elementary and Jackson High School. Roger worked for Baker Hughes and retired from this company. He loved working on cars, and was well known for rebuilding transmissions. He also enjoyed farming, playing with his great-grandkids, and sitting under the tree and carport visiting with friends..
On November 18, 1961 Roger married Georgia Faye Jones and to this union one daughter was born.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and one sister: Travis Timms, Cecil Timms, Leggett Timms, and Allie Mae Timms- Hilburn.
Roger leaves to cherish his memories: wife Georgia Faye Jones Timms Overton, TX; daughter and son in law, Sonya Renee(Timms) and Wallace Davis Henderson, TX; granddaughter, Nikisha Timms Wiley Overton, TX; Three Great-Grandchildren, Milisha Wiley-Timms, Millard Wiley IV (PJ), and Trevon Wiley all of Overton TX. Brothers: James Sanford(Willie Jay) Dallas, TX; Rufus Timms Winona, TX; Phillip Hays Winona, TX; Sister: Virginia Nell Rayson Lee Kilgore, TX; Sister-in laws: Dorothy Hudson Tyler, TX; Odessa Timms Tyler, TX; Brother-in-law: Warnell Hudson Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
