Obituary for Mr. Robert Wayne Camp, Sr.
December 16, 1948 – July 13, 2025
Mr. Robert Wayne Camp, Sr. was born on December 16, 1948, to the loving parentage of Angie Pullins Camp and David Camp.
A proud graduate of Emmett J. Scott High School the Class of 1967, Robert went on to dedicate his life to hard work and service. Over the years, he held various positions, including roles at Cotton Belt Rail Industry and Henry C. Beck Construction Company, where he worked diligently for twelve years. He later joined the Maintenance Department at Willowbrook Country Club, faithfully serving until his health no longer permitted. He was a faithful member of Westview Church of Christ.
Robert had a deep love for music, especially the soulful sounds of Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. His warm spirit, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family made him a beloved presence in the lives of many. He was truly cherished and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
On Sunday, July 13, 2025, Robert answered the call to be with his Heavenly Father.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Angie and David Camp; his beloved wife, Christine Camp; and his brothers, Larry Gene Camp, James Ira Camp, and Charles Edward Camp.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted son, Robert D. Camp (Ay’me Johnson); his grandchildren, Jordaeshia Q. Camp (Chris), Ray Johnson, Majic Cordell Camp, and David Isaiah Camp; his great-grandchildren, Braelyn DeShawn Johnson, Kennedy Lynn Johnson, Bria Mae Johnson, Dai'Jun Camp, Jaicee Stafford, and Kaycen Camp; his loving sister, Debra Marshall; his nephew, Matthew Camp; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Robert’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience lives on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
