Richard Dale Thomas

Mr. Richard Dale Thomas was born June 26, 1973 in Kilgore, Texas to the late R.V. Henderson Sr. and Emma Mae Thomas.

He graduated from Kilgore High School, Class of 1993, where he played football and ran track. Richard Dale aka “Stay Gucci” or maybe you called him “Freak” or just “349”, had a heart full of love, never meeting a stranger. Edell loved his family, especially his softball family that he would travel near and far to play with. Edell always had a softball glove on his hand.

He joined Fredonia Baptist Church at an early age. He served in the youth, as an usher, attended Sunday School, and always played on the Fredonia Baptist Church Softball Team.

He always loved to work to support his family. He worked at McDonalds but chose to venture off and work in the oilfield as a Derrickhand at Top Cat Oilfield, TEC Oilfield, and Signal Oilfield. He was just an all-around handy man.

He went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 3, 2021.

He is preceded in death by both parents, three brothers, two sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Mr. Thomas leaves to cherish his memories: wife Megan Ward Thomas; three daughters Emberleigh Denise Thomas, Skylin Emma-Elizabeth Thomas of Kilgore, TX, Emaria’ Fleshe’ Thomas of Longview, TX and little unborn Sonora Lynn Thomas; eight sisters Sharon Thomas Earl, Alberta Brinkley (Reggie), Darlene Tolbert, Mae Perry Thomas all of Kilgore, TX, Shelia Stansell, Kim Thomas Walker (Chris), Pattie Hanon (Laroyce), Ivie Abron (Vince) all of Longview, TX; Four brothers Rydell Thomas of Houston, TX, R.V. Henderson Jr., Willie Henderson, and Henry Henderson all of Kilgore, TX.; four brother-in-law’s, one special cousin Loretta Strange, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
