Orease Harrold Smith

Orease Harrold Smith affectionally known as G.G. and Aunt Reasie was born to the late Aaron and Darcus Sheffield Harrold in Gregg County, Texas.

Orease was the sixth of nine children of which seven precedes her in death. She met and married William Smith who also precedes her in death.

She attended school at Star Bailey in Rusk County, Beauty School in Tyler, TX, worked as a beauty operator for several years, and worked for the late Kelly Massad family at Junior Hall Apparel. Orease was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Overton, TX for many years before moving her membership to The Greater St. John Baptist Church where she served faithfully as head usher until her health failed her.

Orease also worked for KISD for years upon retirement from the school system. She loved to cook, bake, and travel. She also loved her extended family speaking fondly of the days spent with her cousins, sisters, and brothers.

Orease leaves to cherish her memories: sister Clarice Bell; two daughters Joan H. McIntosh & Sharon Butler (Ray); five grandchildren, seven great-grand children; one special friend Omie Williams and a host of loving family members & friends.
