Monie Ashley

OBITUARY

Monie Ashley, affectionately known as “Bonnie”, was born July 2, 1959 in Kilgore to the late Claude Sr. and Elsie Sibley Ashley.

He was a member of Wayside C.O.G.I.C. and attended Kilgore Public Schools where he was a member of the art club and participated in football, basketball, and track.  Monie graduated with the Class of 1978. He had a passion for drawing and sports cars.

He passed away July 28, 2024 in Overton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Carolyn Cheney and brothers Claude Ashley, Jr. and Steven Ashley, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories children: daughter Vermykia Carr of Lewisville, Texas and son Shawn Carr of Kilgore, Texas; brother:  Marvin Ashley of Kilgore, Texas; three sisters: Mildred Ashley, Eloise Ashley of Kilgore, Texas and Veronica Krall (Michael) of Austin, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
