Mckennly Benson Jr.

Mr. McKennly Benson Jr., better known as "Lil Jr.", was born in Kilgore, TX, on October 30, 1948 to the parents of McKennly Benson Sr. and Brozeal Scott Benson. He was called to be with the Lord February 12, 2010. He attended North Chapel Public School in Kilgore, Texas. After graduation he joined the United States Army where he fought in the Vietnam War in 1969. He attended New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at a early age. He was a truck driver for Frozen Foods for many years. He was also employed at Fleetwood Trailers and Kilgore Recycling for 9 years until his health failed. He was a very outgoing and outspoken person. On January 17,2009 united in Holy Matrimony to Emma Jean Freeman-39 years together. He is preceded in death by his parents; stepdaughter, Kigel LaJean Freeman; sister, Margaret Ann Benson and grandparents. He leaves to cherish a beautiful memory to his wife, Emma Jean Benson of Kilgore; one son, Latrayal Loyd of Kilgore; two brothers, John Benson(Janice)of Kilgore and Rufus Benson of Evansville, Indiana; one sister, Shirley Roberson(Lester) of Dallas, TX., four grandchildren, Phadarian, Deontre, Drayton & Torranna all of Kilgore, Texas; a special niece who is named after him, McKenzie Bell; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, friends and a special friend to the end, Chris.
