Mrs. Mary N. Rossum Gray , was born May 12, 1938 to the parentage of Mr. Willie Lee and Mrs. Essie Mae Dudley. Mary attended school and some college in the Kilgore community. She was very loving and patient always offering her service to others and always putting family first. Working with special needs individuals, Mary was very dedicated to the rights and quality of life to each person from ages 0 – 75 years, volunteering with special Olympics and many other community events.
Accepting Christ at and early age and later joining Fredonia Baptist Church where she was a member of the senior choir, mission board, acting Sunday school teacher, and church secretary, serving faithfully until membership was move closer to home. Joining True Believers Baptist Church she continued to serve as mission president and acting Sunday school teacher she loved her pastor and wanted to contribute and serve wherever needed until her health fail.
Mary was united in holy matrimony with the late Reuben A. Rossum, Jr. during this union three children was born. She later married Rev. Charles E. Gray combining both families under the leadership of God.
She departed in life March 27, 2020.
Preceding her in death is one granddaughter Sharonnica Andrews and one son Kevin Rossum.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memories: her loving husband Rev. Charles E. Gray, daughter Sharon Andrews, son Brian Rossum, three stepchildren Renee Sanders, Rev. Bernard Gray, and Gaylord (Vanessa) Gray; two sisters Shirley (Sylvester) Marshall and Rena Scott; one brother Curtis (Betty) Dudley, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
