Martha Marie Pegues-Davis

She was born December 11, 1935 to the late Ardee Lucas and Lenora Zachery. She was a member of Post Oak CME Church in Longview, TX. She attended C.B. Dansby Colored High School where she was a member of the band, twirler, cheerleader and a host of other activities. She graduated with the class of 1955.
On September 26, 1958 she married the love of her life, Rev. TJ Pegues-Davis, Sr. They were married for 50 years. To this union seven children were born. She was an avid homemaker and enjoyed baking, sewing, crafting and was a devoted Ministers Wife for over forty years.
Her husband, and two brothers, Larry Zachery and Robert Lucas preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories; Janice Jackson, David Pegues-Davis, Tammy Abercrombie, Lenora Thomas, and Kevin Pegues-Davis all of Kilgore, Texas. Rev. James Pegues-Davis (Bridgette) of Longview, Texas and Rev. T.J. Davis Jr. (Fayette) of Columbus, Georgia; seven grandchildren: James Allen ( Melody), Reginald, Andre, Greg, Ryan (Courtney), Tamara, and Randy; two great-grandchildren: Harmonie and Ryelie. Four sisters, Dorothy Smith ( Ira) Houston, TX; Wanda Scott Mesquite, TX; Franesta Geter Kilgore, TX; Billye Brashear Dallas, TX; three brothers, Raymond Griffin ( Daisy) Grand Praire, TX; James Zachery Longview, TX; Charle Lucas (Billie) Kansas City; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
