Margie Nell Moore

April 22, 1950 — February 20, 2023

On February 20, 2023, a sister, mother, grandmother, and friend left this earthly realm transitioning from time to eternity. Our human sorrow is great, but we do not sorrow as those who have no hope....

Margie Nell Session Moore was occasionally referred to as Margie Nell and Aunt Margie by family, Margie by friends, Ms. Margie, Mrs. Moore by coworkers, and most affectionately MAMA & GRANNY. She was passionate about family, and everyone was considered a cousin. She ensured everyone had enough to eat and a place to sit and laugh.

She was born on April 22, 1950 in Rusk, Texas to the parentage of the late J.W. Session and Earnestine Session Rivers and J.B. Rivers.

Education

She attended Fred Douglas School in Jacksonville, TX.

Walk with Christ

She accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Jacksonville, TX. She later became a faithful member of the Greater St. John Baptist Church where she served in the missionary department, church clerk, choir member, and any other area she was needed in the House of the Lord.

Career

She worked in the Kilgore Independent School District for 34 years.

Hobbies

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, softball, basketball, reading, sewing, puzzles, knitting and traveling.

World Traveler

She loved to travel and had the great pleasure of visiting Panama (Central America), Hawaii, Colorado, Seattle, Washington, New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Georgia just to name a few.

Holy Matrimony

Margie joined Lou Andrew Moore, a Godly family man, provider, and protector in matrimony raising five children for 35 years with understanding and love before his heavenly transition.

Preceded in Death

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Beatrice and Aaron Tinsley, paternal grandparents Ida and Richard Session, husband Lou A. Moore, sisters Janet Session and Lue Leatha Anders, and brother Claude L. Rivers.

Legacy

Margie went home to be with our Heavenly Father. Her life will always be cherished because of the blessings of our God. Her legacy will continue to live on through her five children and family. Children: Patricia (Tony) Brooks of Longview, TX., Billy Maddox of Tyler, TX., Dr. Margie (Nate) Battle of Atlanta, GA., Tyrone Maddox of Kilgore, TX., and Michael Moore of Kilgore, TX. Brother: Aaron (Lavell) Session of Jacksonville, TX. Sisters: Maudie Oliver, Ruby King, and Sandra Faye Harris all of Dallas, TX., Theresa (Larry) Johnson of Jacksonville, TX; 25 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
