Lynda Gale
Dean

Mt. Pleasant Cemetery
Starts at 11:00 am (Central time)
Lynda Gale Dean was born on December 30, 1959, in Gregg County, Texas, to the late Allie Mae Timms Hilburn and Robert L. Dean. She was also blessed with the love and guidance of her stepfather, Joe Henry Hilburn, and was lovingly raised and nurtured by her maternal grandparents, Phillip and Celeste Timms, who played a significant role in shaping her life.
Lynda was educated in the local school system and attended Chapel Hill High School. Affectionately known as "Red" by family and friends, she was known for her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and unwavering love for those around her. She found joy in spending time with her son and family, listening to music, and shopping. Her smile, sense of humor, and caring nature brought comfort and happiness to many.
Throughout her working years, Lynda was a compassionate caregiver who devoted years to helping others. She also was employed at Whataburger and later at Skeeter Boats, where she worked faithfully until her health no longer permitted her to continue.
At an early age, Lynda confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and became a member of Mt. Erie Baptist Church. Her faith remained an important part of her life and guided her through life's joys and challenges.
After a long and loving courtship, Lynda was united in Holy Matrimony to LaFattress Scott. Their union was blessed with the birth of their beloved son, Andre Denard Scott, who was the pride and joy of her life.
Lynda was a caring, generous, and compassionate woman who never hesitated to open her heart and home to others. She welcomed people without judgment, offering kindness, support, and encouragement whenever it was needed. Her love for family and friends was evident in everything she did, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
On June 2, 2026, Lynda peacefully entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Neta J. Williams Washington; her sister-in-law, Debbie Timms; nephew, Shont’a Rayson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her beloved son, Andre Denard Scott; her brothers, Tonnie D. Timms of Winona, Texas, Jerry L. Hilburn (Bedelia) of Mississippi, Joe E. Hilburn of Keller, Texas, and Timothy H. Hilburn; her sisters, Cynthia Diane Wallace (Bobby) of Arp, Texas, Pamela M. Harvey (Alvin) of Kilgore, Texas, Phyllis D. Brown (Anthony) of Arlington, Texas, Barbara N. Chambers (Mark) of Mansfield, Texas, and Loretta Arnold Glanzrock (Robert) of Las Vegas, Nevada; her brother-in-law, Drew Washington of Kilgore, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, dear friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.
Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of love, compassion, and generosity will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
