Louis Norris Clear

Bro. Lewis Clear was born on February 2, 1922 to the parentage of Ophelia Jackson and Hugh Clear in Rusk County. He departed this life on October 8, 2010 at home in his chair. At an early age, Bro. Lewis Clear became a member of New Prospect Baptist Church of Minden, Texas where he served as a Deacon. In the early 1940's he moved his membership to Kilgore Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T. George. While being a member of Kilgore Baptist he served as the custodian from 1980-2003. He was employed by Petrolite for 25 years. He was united in holy matimony to the late Iris O Clear on July 1, 1939. To this union one child was born and three adopted. They had one son, whom preceded them in death, James N. Clear. He leaves to cherish his memories; two daughters, Essie Clear Williams of San Bernadino, Ca; Vernell Kennedy of Longview, TX; one son Donald E. Clear of Kansas, MO; one granddaughter/daughter who was with him until the end, Pam Clear of Kilgore, TX; one daughter-in-law Cassandra Mitchell of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Willie Mae Lewis of Dallas, TX; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
