Sis. Lois Marie Mumphrey was born June 19, 1926 in Little River Ashdown, Arkansas to the late Mr. Edmon Bailey and Lomas Bailey. She attended school at Ned E. Williams High School in Longview, TX. She confessed Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Kilgore, TX, where she was a member of the choir until her health started to fail. She was a homemaker who loved to sew, cook, and care for others' children. She always made friends of the family feel welcome like they were her own children. She was known as "Mother Dear" or "Momo."
She married Robert Lee Mumphrey and from this union five children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Edmond Bailey Jr. and Elliot Bailey, sister Corrine Wright, and son Frank Mumphrey.
She leaves to cherish her memories: four children Jerry Mumphrey (Geneva) of Dallas, TX, Johnny Mumphrey (Joann) of Kilgore, TX, Annie Lois Yarborough of Kilgore, TX, Annie Ruth Roberson (Nathan) of Kilgore, TX; two sisters Madeline Robinson (James) of Dallas, TX and Army Jean Woodard of Longview, TX; one brother Paul Bailey (Edwina) of Dallas, TX; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
