Lera Woods Young

Lear Abner Woods Young was born July 27, 1928 to Manuel and Lizzie V. Fortson Woods.

Her education was achieved at West Point Elementary, North Chapel High School, and Texas College, with advaced classes at the University of Colorado.

She joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Chuch at an early age and was a faithful member until moving to Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her parents Manuel and Lizzie V. Woods, husband Rev. Johm Wesley Young, daughter Cheryl Lynne Young Turner, granddaughters Monet Turner and Cymmandie Turner, three brothers; Percy L. Woods, Earlon C. Woods and ,.E. Woods, and sister Everett V. Henry.

Mrs. Young leaves to cherish her memories: Son Dwayne Alan Young (Denver); Grandson Leo Young Sr. (Denver); Granddaughter Andrenna Young (Philadelphia); Brother James Earl Woods (Wilma), Kilgore; Brother-in-law Morris Young (Janet) of Houston; sisters-in-law Edith Grovey of Old Ocean and Barbara Raye Young of Houston; Samella Woods of Baytown, TX; Great-grandsons Lydell Young and Leo Young Jr. (Denver). Several nephews,nieces, cousins, and a very special life-long friend of 86 years Mrs. Teola B. Pinkard Williams of Dallas.
