Lena Mae Yarborough

Lena Mae Wallace-Yarborough affectionately known as “Honey” was born on April 17 ^th , 1927 to Freddie Dee and Adell Wallace. She received her education through North Chapel School district.

Lena lived and worked in Kilgore as a housekeeper. Lena was soft spoken, but her sweet voice and demeanor was not to be taken lightly. She had a laugh that would stop you in your tracks and she loved her family - Especially her grands and greats.

Lena transitioned peacefully on October 9 ^th , 2021 and she will truly be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Freddie Dee Wallace; mother Adell “Big Mama” Wallace; brothers Jack Wallace and Freddie Dee Wallace, Jr.; sister Lizzie B. Jackson, half sister Katherine Benson, and son Carl Yarborough.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sister:  Loraine Wallace-Palmer (Lee); sister in law Louise Wallace, sons  Melvin Wallace and Walter Yaborough all of Kilgore, Texas. Christoper Samples of Aurora, CO; daughters Tina Samples of Longview, Texas and Kim Samples of Kilgore, Texas. 13 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great Grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving relatives and friends.
