Kenneth B. Russ was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 23, 1955 to the proud parents of Barbara Jean Hilburn-Russ and Bernard Russ. He attended schools in New Jersey, Florida Washington State and California. He received Christ in December 1976 under the teaching of Frederick K. Price at Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles, California. He was an entrepreneur who traveled extensively throughout African and Europe to pursue his vision of linking the African Diaspora with the United States and South America. He was also honored as a Chief of various African ethnic tribal communities. He was a professional writer for television broadcastings as well as print articles in various magazines and was a distinguished member of many organizational boards.
Kenneth was predeceased by his sister Yvonne Russ but leaves behind to cherish his memories a devoted wife Lauren (Maryland), loving mother Barbara J. Hilburn (Texas), caring father and stepmother, Bernard and Corine Russ (Florida) another sister and brother-in-law Victoria & Arthur Gordon, Jr. (Texas) and nephew Anthony Kenneth Spoon (Yvonnes son) (Texas)
He also leaves behind three aunts, Peggie Parker (California), Curlee Russ and Ida Prather both of (Florida) as well as cousins , Charles Russ (Michigan) Ann Russ (Virginia) Reggie Russ, Sharon Russ and Brenda Russ of all (Florida). Ray Prather, Jr. (Switzerland), Musheer Muhammad (Connecticut), Eddie Prather, Sabrina Prather, Anthony Prather and Regina Higgs of all (Florida). Cynthia Smith and Bobby Smith both of (California) and special aunts Maxcine Fortson and Mary Pinke both of (Texas) as well as other relatives and friends. Kenneth was also the adopted nephew of the C.B. Dansby High School Class of 1957.
