Joshua Woodruff

July 26, 1986 — June 20, 2018

Joshua Alexander Woodruff was born July 26, 1986, in Kilgore, Texas to Charles Alexander Woodruff and Kelly Lynn Stokely. Joshua graduate from Sabine High School in 2004.

After graduation, he attended Kilgore Junior College and took courses in automotive repair. He worked in this field for several years before apprenticing and acquiring skills in floor installation. Here he found an outlet for his many creative talents, mastering techniques in the areas of ceramic tile, hardwood flooring, and carpeting arrangements. Recently he began his own business, Woodruff Flooring, hoping to expand into independent contracting and larger projects.

Our Joshua was a fun-loving, carefree soul who was ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Josh would give the shirt off his back if it was available—or perhaps even *yours* if he saw someone he believed to be even more disadvantaged. He also had his troubles—bipolar disorder and demons of addiction—but recently he had worked to put his feet upon solid ground and had come into his own. He was a true Renaissance man, dabbling in a little bit of everything, and spread joy to those around him through laughter, poetry, music, art, and sometimes a bit of good natured aggravation. There are no words to express how much he will be missed, but he wants us all to remember to hang in there and look for God’s presence in the small things.

Josh is survived by his wife, Kandas Sanders of Liberty City; his mother, Kelly Stokely Hall, and her husband, Stan Hall of Nocona; his sister, Jessica Woodruff, and her fiancé, Mike Hanna of San Antonio; his maternal grandmother, Nancy Stokely of Liberty City; and his paternal grandparents, Charlie Woodruff and Georgeann Chaffee of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Alexander Woodruff, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his maternal grandfather, Richard Douglas Stokely of Liberty City; and his paternal grandmother, Josephine VanVaulkenburg of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
