John David Butler

Born April 28, 1959 to John A. and Gothal Butler in Kilgore, Texas, departed this life on September 2, 2026 in Longview, Texas.

He attended Sabine School until graduation, then attended Southern Arkansas University, in Magnolia, Arkansas, before returning to attend Kilgore College, where he met and married Irene Castillo. Two children, Shannon and Shawn were born to this union.

He later moved to south Texas for a number of years, before settling in Austin, where he attended college and worked in the hospitality industry before deciding to come home.

He leaves to honor his memory, his children Shannon (Bryson) and Shawn (Mayra); six grandchildren, Madyson, Brylee, Brynn, Shaelyn, Kyra and Denzel; four brothers Kenneth, Michael, Rodney, and Ralph (Suzanne); sisters: Martha Howard, Tamara Winkley, Marian Kennedy (Donald), and Melonie Bonner; a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
