Remembrances of JC Tipps Jr.
A Time to be Born:
On April 21, 1940 in Easton, Texas. JC Tipps Sr. and Lenora Hughes Tipps welcomed their second son JC Tipps Jr. JC joined his firstborn brother Elvis. Later, his sisters Gloria, Eva and younger sister Vernell were born. JC grew up in Easton, Texas.
A Time to Give Reverence to God:
JC joined Post Oak CME Church at an early age. He developed a personal relationship with God later on in life and began to attend Victory Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of his nephew Pastor Robert Hicks, until his health failed.
A Time to Learn:
JC graduated from Fredonia High School in Kilgore, Texas.
A Time to Work:
JC's work history began at the produce company and the automotive shop in Kilgore, Texas and Longview Linen in Longview, Texas. After working multiple jobs, JC went on to have a career working for Kilgore Ceramic who later became Mansfield Plumbing, where he retired after 33 years. Even after retirement JC continued to work hard on other jobs.
A Time for Fun:
JC enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends enjoying good food and conversation. JC also enjoyed quiet time and watching TV shows. He loved cooking, gardening, fishing, and hunting because he loved to be outside.
A Time to Mourn:
JC was preceded in death by his parents JC Sr. and Lenora Hughes Tipps; one brother Elvis Tipps; two special nephews Randall Clark and TJ Miles Jr.; two special nieces Brenda Small and Sandra Terrell; one brother-in-law Riley H. Hicks; one nephew-in-law Alvin Dean Ates Sr.
A Time to Transition:
JC transitioned early Monday morning August 22, 2022, after a brief illness. He leaves to remember him with love: his wife of 60 years Georgia Mae Hicks Tipps of Kilgore, Texas whom he married on August 12, 1962, and to this matrimony one son was born, Lamarcus LaDarian Tipps of Kilgore, Texas. He also leaves to remember him with love three granddaughters Cheyenne Rose Starkey of Hallsville, Texas, Essie LaShun and Little Georgia Shanice Tipps of Marshall, Texas; three sisters Gloria Clark and Eva Hicks both of Kilgore, Texas, and Vernell (TJ) Miles of Tyler, Texas; three sister-in-laws Bobby Tipps of Wichita, Kansas; Mary Lee Ates of Kilgore, Texas who loved him dearly and was dear to his heart and Viola (Albert) Mosley of Kilgore, Texas; four special nieces Alvinia (Paul) McClenton and Sharon Earl both of Kilgore, Texas, Angie Miles of Gladewater, Texas, and Dionne (Cisco) Nelson of Wichita, Kansas; three special nephews Robert (Frances) Hicks of Kilgore, Texas, Richard Miles of Gladewater, Texas, and Anthony (Sidra) Clark of Arlington, Texas; four great nieces Robin Hicks, Tre'Shala Hicks, Shemeca Nicole, and Tiljoyna Miles; one great nephew Shaute Scott; two great-great nieces LaShiya and Rylie Burton; one great-great nephew TruSton Moon; one niece-in-law Jannice (David) Murphy; three nephew-in-laws Frederick Ates, Sedrick Ates, and Darrel Ates Jr.; Goddaughter and Godson Clarissa (Bruce) Roberson of Tyler, Texas; God-granddaughter Veronica Morgan of Longview, Texas; God-grandson Charles Mills of Dallas, Texas; as well as a host of close cousins and friends.
