James Earl Sibley

September 18, 1925 — October 19, 2015

He was born September 19, 1925 to the late Elzie and Eula Sibley. He departed this life on October 19, 2015 in Kilgore, TX. As a child he attended public school in Rusk County. At an early age he accepted Christ and attended St. John Baptist Church of Kilgore, TX. He later united with Wayside COGIC where he served faithfully as a Deacon until his health began to fail. He retired from Kilgore Ceramics in 1987 at age 62. He spent his later years working with family and acting as the honorary mayor of Steber Grove. From a previous marriage to Molly Medford Sibley (who preceded him in death) two children were born. He later married Bobbie Dudley Sibley. He leaves to cherish his memories: wife of 37 years, Bobbie Sibley of Kilgore, TX; son James Sibley Jr. ( Mattie) of Fort Worth, TX; four daughters, Era Murphy ( Joe) and Nila Harris ( Jimmy) of Kilgore, TX; Glenda Fitzhugh and Janice Pegues of California. Three brothers Willie Sibley of Kilgore, TX, Alvin and Jerry Sibley of Fort Worth, TX. Five sisters, Donnell Sibley and Lois Hall of Kilgore, TX, Emma Jean Henderson of Henderson, TX, Juanita Roberson and Linda Kennedy of Tyler, TX. 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mr. James Sibley has now gone to join his family with the Lord. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
