James Christopher Calico

James Christopher Calico was born June 28, 1983 in Longview, Texas to the parents of Robert Calico and the late Beverly Harnage.  He attended Longview ISD at an early age and later moved to Sabine ISD.  He graduated from Sabine High School. He took an auto mechanic class and loved working on cars until his health declined.  He enjoyed playing dominoes and helping others.  On January 12, 2023 God called him to come home. Preceding him in death his mother, Beverly Harnage, his paternal grandparents: A.W. and Armie Calico and his maternal grandparents: Ervin Bill Harnage and Margaret Harnage-McEntire; brother Robert G. Calico and brother-in-law Kenneth Frazier, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Simona Calico, Tyler, Texas; a son JaCorbin Calico, Arlington, Texas; a daughter JaNyla Calico, Longview, Texas; three stepchildren Jamear, D’Wayne and Brooklynn; father, Robert Calico, Kilgore, Texas; eight siblings DeAngela Harnage-Morgan, Longview, Texas; Tracy Harnage, Longview, Texas; Bridget Harnage, Longview, Texas; Theresa Johnson, Rowlett, Texas; Niesha Mayfield (Devin), Longview, Texas; Christy Calico, Longview, Texas; Robert Craig Calico (his twin), Longview, Texas; and Robert Calico Jr., Kilgore, Texas; six stepsiblings: Tim Williams, Kansas City, Kansas; Somora Williams and Artheia Williams both of Houston, Texas; Jody Middlebrook, Kilgore, Texas; Billy Hestand II, LaCrosse, Wisconsin; and Blaze Smith, Longview, Texas; bonus siblings Brian Brown, Whitney Calico, Christopher Calico, and Karmen "Punkin" Griffin; Twelve paternal aunts and uncles:  Mary Jones, Longview, Texas; William Calico, Kilgore, Texas; Alice Thibodeaux (Jerald), Garland, Texas; Sherrion Fuller (Raymond), Dallas, Texas; Rosemary Calico-Hopson (Herman), Baytown, Texas; Sandra Calico, Longview, Texas; LaJoyce Thompson (Harold), Longview, Texas; Allen Calico, Longview, Texas; ten maternal aunts and uncles: Sharon Rhodes (Robert), Longview, Texas; Janet Dearion, Longview, Texas; Vanessa Gregg, Longview, Texas; Debra Johnson (Carl), Longview, Texas; Bishop Tyrone McEntire (Gina) Durham, North Carolina; and Reverend Keith Cullors (Peggy), Wichita, Kansas; sixteen nieces and nephews, ten great nieces and great nephews, five special friends: LT Elder, Kevin “Superman” Washington, Brandon Ward, Derrick King, all of Longview, Texas and Christopher Byrd of Kilgore, Texas; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
