Ina Ruth Cooks-Muhammad

December 9, 1949 — June 25, 2010

Sis. Ina received her diploma from Jackson High and graduated from cosmetology school then worked as a licensed beautician for many years. Later in life she embraced the Nation of Islam and followed this faith until death. An active member in improving her community, Sis Ina was an advocate in organizing the East Smith County Sewer and Water Corporation. She worked incessantly to improve the quality of life for her family, friends, and the people in her neighborhood. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, traveling, and excercising. Her mother Kaola Cooks and sister Sheila Cooks proceded her in death. She leaved to cherish her memory her father, Ira La Salle Cooks Winona, TX, sister Carol Young (husband Keith) Winona, TX, brothers Roy R. Cooks (wife, Wanda) Tyler, TX, Johnny L. Cooks Winona, TX, Ira L. Cooks (wife, Delores) Winona, TX, Charles Cooks Amarillo, TX, and Willie E. Cooks Winona, TX along with a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Cousins and very dear friend, Nola Chandler.
