Gussie Mae Johnson

Ms. Gussie Mae Johnson was born on the 31st day of August 1928 in Gilmer, Texas. She was born to Mr. Jerry Duffey and Mrs. Angeline Duffey, who preceded her in death. She attended public school in Myrtle Springs. At early childhood she was a member of C.M.E. Church in Pittsburg, Texas.She married Luther Johnson with this union 7 children were born, 5 sons and 2 daughters. Ms. Gussie Johnson closed her eyes to eternal sleep on Monday, September 8, 2008 in Lesington Nursing home in Nacogdoches, Texas. Preceding her in death are two sons L.J. Johnson and Johnny Earl Johnson. Cherishing her memories are her sons: Willie H. Johnson and Jerry W. Johnson (Cassandra) and Ray D. Johnson all of Dallas, TX; two daughters: Wanda J. Davis (Clarence) of Dallas, TX and Margret Johnson of Dallas, TX; one sister, Katie Ownes of Dallas, TX; two borthers, Nathaniel Duffey (Ruby) of Pittsburg, TX and Billy Cummings of Richmond, CA; sister-in-law, Grace Duffey of Pittsburg, TX; 22 grandchildern; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
