Gerald B. Gilstrap was born on August 31, 1942, to the late B. B. Gilstrap and Beatrice McDavid Gilstrap. He attended C. B. Dansby High School in Kilgore, TX. He also attended Kilgore College. He served in the ARMY, where he received the Purple Heart for his bravery. He worked for Kilgore Ceramics, where he retired. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; Billy Joe Gilstrap, Frank Minor, Jr., Jimmy Minor, and L. C. Minor; and one brother-in-law, Eugene A. Mathis. He is survived by his two sons, Prince Charles Gilstrap, Cedrick B. Carldwell, and one daughter, LaToya Lewis; one grandson, Kendrix Tillman, (Nikki); one granddaughter; great grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene Gilstrap, (Helen); Lee Gilstrap, (Ruth) and Hubert Gilstrop, (Liza); and one sister, Shelia Mathis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
