Freda Deloris Dorsey

She was born September 12, 1936 to the parentage of Fleetwood and Josie Palmer Scott, in Kilgore, Texas. She attended North Chapel Schools and Butler College. She taught in Midland-Odessa and North Chapel Schools. At a young age she joined the New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as Church Clerk. She later joined the Post Oak Baptist Church. She loved flowers and always had a beautiful smile. She died February 18, 2009 at Beacon Hospice in Longview, Texas. She married James Dorsey Jr. February 2, 1961; to this union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother Millard Scott. She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Renee Cunningham and her husband Thomas of Kilgore, Chris Dorsey and his wife Deidra of Frisco, Raven Ford and her husband Jamell of Kilgore; Two brothers, Willie Ray Scott and his wife Crystal of Long Beach, Ca. and Linwood Scott and his wife Jan of Los Angeles, Ca., Seven grandchildren, Jessica Cunningham, Heather Hall, Jalen Dorsey, Jacobe Ross, Ryan Dorsey, Breden Ford, Bryson Ford. One aunt, Mary Booty and her husband Simmie of Los Angeles, Ca., Five brother-in-laws, three sister-in-laws. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A very special friend and caregiver Connie Strong. And very special friends Elena Johnson, Orene Howell, and Bernice Gray.
