Everlena Williams Derrick was born on October 13, 1941 to the late Ernest Williams and Goldie Burns of Kilgore, TX. “The Angel of Peace” quietly carried Everlena Williams into Eternity on Friday, May 3, 2019.
She attended North Chapel Schools of Kilgore, TX and from there she went on to pursue her career in the medical field. She was employed for 35 years at Roy H. Laird Memorial Hospital, four years at a daycare facility, and the last ten years at Walmart in Kilgore, TX until her untimely illness.
She was preceded in death by her: parents Ernest Williams and Goldie Burns, husband Otha Derrick, son Clarence Williams Sr., grandson Clarence Williams Jr., great-grandson Shaquille Williams, and great-granddaughter Kayunia Allen.
Everlena leaves behind to cherish her: her loving two children Katherine (Elton) Taylor of Tyler, TX and Walter (Brenda) Powe of White Oak, TX; Her three siblings Allie Elder of Longview, TX, Ernest L. (Carolyn) Williams of Kilgore, TX, and Carl Williams of Los Angeles, CA. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren: Randy (Anesha) Williams of Denton, TX, Kimberly (David) Williams of Longview, TX, Karen (Bronkell) Allen of Tyler, TX, Walter Powe Sr. of Longview, TX, Draycuss (Bridget) Taylor of Tyler, TX, Christopher Powe of Kilgore, TX, Darius Taylor of Tyler, TX and Shacolby Powe of Kilgore, TX. Great-grandchildren: Phadarian Harper, Deontre Williams, Drayton Williams, Shakina Wheat, Savion Allen, Taylor Allen, Arianna Williams, Ny’Airia Williams, Rayshun Williams, Anajha Taylor, Keianne Taylor, and Andrea Mallard. A host of other relatives and friends. A special friend Ida Nell Goods.
