On August 31 st , 2021, the world lost one of the most genuine, loving, and giving human beings. Eula B. “Skace” Odums was born on April 11 th , 1951, in Mansfield, Louisiana to John L. Walker and Lily B. Odums. She spent most of her childhood running the roads and learning to cook with her mother. Eula B. attended C B Dansby School and she then went on to work in her mother’s café, cleaning houses, babysitting, and in home health. Throughout her adulthood Ms. Odums was known for taking in and raising kids that were in need. The love that she had to give to others was immeasurable and it was known across East Texas. If you needed a home cooked meal, a warm place to stay, a good whoopin’, or a sweet hug then Eula B’s house was the place to go. Her two sons, Ryan Walthers and Josh Orange, were given a new life when she took them in. She worked day and night to provide them with the best possible life, teaching them how to become hard working, respectful men. One of her favorite past times is sitting outside watching her grandchildren play. “Nana’s babies” kept her on her toes and going for many years. Ms. Odums was a staple in the Kilgore and Liberty City communities and is one that will be missed tremendously by those that knew her.
Eula B. was preceeded in death by her parents, John L. Walker and Lily B Odums.
In addition to her two sons, Ryan Walthers and Josh Orange, she is survived by her grandchildren Kolby and Kaia Walthers, Umunique and Josh Orange, Jr. Lifelong friends and sisters Deborah Hamilton, Barbara Ector, and Charlotte Dennis. Uncle Doug. Along with numerous family and friends.
