Eleanor Jewel Strong Jackson was born December 13, 1938, to the parentage of Collie B and Mary Lee Lewis Strong in Gregg County, Texas. Both parents preceded her death. Eleaor was the third daughter of eleven children, three brothers, and two sisters preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one great-grandson.
"Jewel" as she was affectionately known by family and friends, attended Post Oak and North Chapel School. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Kilgore, Texas. She later mved to Dallas, Texas, re-commited her life to the Lord, became a member of Mt. Pisgah. There she was re-baptized beacuse she wanted to celebrate her transformation and new life in Christ. While at Mt. Pisgah she became a soul winner and wrote her own tracts to use as she won souls to Christ. Later she moved to a new area of Dallas and joined Concord Church under the leadership of Dr. E.K. Bailey. She served in several ministries at Concord; teaching, evangelizing, and serving to glorfy God. In September 1981, she announced her call and commission to become a Missionary in her home town. With Pastr Bailey's blessings she returned to Kilgore in obedience to the Lord. She reunited with New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Jewel dedicated her life to Christian Ministry. She was one of the Founders and organizers of the C & M Strong Christian Ministries and Outreach in 1982. She was a strong prayer warrior, a visionary who God used to start the Prayer warrior groups in the ministry. She was a soul winner, Bible study teacher, served in the Concord Prision Ministry, prayer ministry and Mission Society. She was an extravagent giver, loved to cook, and share her time with children. She was "Momma Jewel" to all the young who knew her.
Eleanor "Jewel" was employed by LTV; Kennedy Candy Manufacturer and Kilgore Independent School District, where she worked until her death.
She was married to Charles C. Jackson. To this union a blended family of three girls were united as daughters and sisters. Charles preceded her in death August 1, 2008.

Siblings: Imatha Wright (Albert), Estella Strong and Gerry Samples all of Dallas, Texas, Rev. Martha Jefferson Desoto, Texas. One brother, Bobby D. Strong (Neila) Moreno Valley, California; Four brother in laws: Kenneth (Sarah) Jackson, Wills Point, Texas, Larry (Beverly) Jackson, Kaufman, Texas; Dwayne (Marilyn Jackson, Desoto, Texas; Bert Earl Jackson, Tyler; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special friend: Edith Wedgeworth, Longview, Texas.
