Doretha Douglas was born in Kilgore, Texas on August 17, 1947 to late Gloskey and Willie D. Douglas. She attended C.B. Dansby High School in Kilgore. She united with Union Baptist Church where she confessed her belief in Christ at an early age. She united in marriage to the late Jerry Coleman to this union no children were born. Doretha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother John Robert Douglas. She began working for Neiman-Marcus on October 4, 1965 as a clerk. A year later, she became a member of the selling staff and in July, 1973 she assumed the role as a Selling Assistant Department Manager and then as a Supervisor. March 29, 1977, she was Neiman-Marcus first award winner. She leaves to cherish her memories, a brother Theadore Douglas of Kilgore, and one sister, Helen Adger of Dallas; also nieces, nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
