Danon Muckelroy, Sr.

Damon Muckelroy, Sr. completed his work here on this Earth Tuesday, July 14 after a brief illness. Uncle Damon, as he was affectionately known by his numerous nieces and nephews, was one of twin boys born to Willie and Ernest Muckelroy on October 10, 1915 in Kilgore, TX. Uncle Damon grew up in the shadow of the Living Church of God in Kilgore where he perfected his love for the Lord. In his young years he attended Kilgore schools and went on to attend Tuskegee Institute and then Prairie View College. He left college at the beginning of World War II when he moved to Los Angeles, CA. After making Los Angeles his home he married Predetta Stell, and they had a loving son, Damon Jr., who both preceded him in death. ;Uncle Damon was also a cherished son of Willie and Ernest who both preceded him in death along with his twin brother, Danon (Lil) Muckelroy and younger brother, Roy Russ Muckelroy. He leaves to celebrate his life two sisters, Ernestine Rettig of Tyler, TX, Cleo Morgan and a brother, Erby Muckelroy (wife Peggy), both of Kilgore, TX along with his god son, Devon Gipson of Los Angeles, CA. All of Uncle Damons Nieces and Nephews were his favorites and we will all miss him but so will his many cousins and friends.
