Clarence G. "Ricki" Thompson

Mr. Clarence Gerald Thompson, affectionately known to everyone as Ricki, was born on September 20, 1954 in Dallas, TX to the late Rev. Timothy E. Thompson and Lue Helen Thompson Simpson. Ricki was the sixth of thirteen children.

He united in Holy Matrimony to Tina Mobley, to this union one child was born, Rikki Thompson.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother and four brothers.

Ricki attended Kilgore Elementary schools, and C.B. Dansby High School, where he was a member of the C.B. Dansby marching band. After desegregation he transferred to Kilgore High School and graduated in 1973. He worked as a truck driver for many years and later became self-employed doing auto detailing.

Early in childhood he attended Antioch Baptist Church, Kilgore, TX. Later in his adult life he united and became a member of True Saints Church of the Living God under the pastorage of the late Bishop P.D. Austin, Jr. He was a member of the True Saints Choir, and his love for singing later led him to join the gospel group, The Golden Crowns. He obtained his ministers license under the late Bishop P.D. Austin, Jr. and Bishop Emma Austin and was a faithful member of the church until his health failed.

He entered into peaceful eternal rest on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 with his family at his bedside.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife : Tina Thompson, son Rikki (Little Rik) Thompson, granddaughter , Nakiera Thompson, four sisters : Bishop Emma Austin, Teresa Bynum, Betty Thompson, Vickie Haynes (Derrick), four brothers : Timothy E. Thompson, Jr., Willy Thompson (Marsha), Clyde Thompson, Vence Thompson (Regina), and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
