Christopher Jerome "Kaboo" Smith

Christopher was born on June 15, 1973, to Shelia B. Smith and Tommy Charles Ector in Overton, TX. He passed away May 27, 2021, after a lengthy illness. He was most known by his nicknames "Kaboo" or "Cooboo".

Christopher attended Kilgore Public Schools and was a point guard for the high school basketball team. He finished his degree and graduated from Sails. Christopher loved his family and being around his friends. His hobby was tinkering with electronics and playing online games against his younger cousins. He enjoyed attending online bible study and was a much-loved patient of the staff at Medical City Plano where he was given the recognition as patient of the month. Christopher was raised at birth by his Godmother Lilly (Mama Lil) Carr, then at the age of 10 months he was raised by his grandmother Addie B. Smith who affectionally called him "PooPoo" and considered him her son.

Christopher is preceded in death by his mother and father; Godmother Lilly Carr; grandmother's Addie B. Smith and Frances Ector; grandfather's William Kennedy and Henry McAlister; uncle's Jewel Ector, William Smith, and Adolphus Smith; cousin Felicia Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memories: son Barry Don Kennedy of Gladewater, TX; brother Carlton Ector of Dallas, TX; aunt’s Barbara Ector of Kilgore, TX, Patricia A. Smith of Kilgore, TX, special aunt, sister, and fill-in mother Shirley A. Smith of Longview, TX; uncles Rev. Donald E. Smith Sr. (Beverly) of Dallas, TX; cousin’s Rev. Donald E. Smith Jr. (Tabetha) of Wills Point, Angela Robinson (Michael) of DeSoto, TX, Rev. Lamont Smith (Erica) of Tenaha, TX, Dannita A. Smith of Longview, TX, Marcus Smith of Kilgore, TX, Mario Smith of Kilgore, TX, Andre' Williams of Dallas, TX, Nick Sanders of Kilgore, TX, Dominique Dews of Dallas, TX, Te'Undra Ector of Longview, TX, Regene Walker of Longview, TX and Isaiah Watters of Longview, TX.
