Christine (Cooter) Camp

September 13, 1950 — June 15, 2019

Christine Jeanette Lynch Camp was born on September 13, 1950 in Kilgore, Texas to Beulah McGaskey and Randolph Edwards. She was the tenth child born into this family of eleven children. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized into the Church of Christ.

Christine received her early education in Kilgore, Texas, where she attended C.B. Dansby High School which was formerly known as Kilgore Colored High School. After her high school graduation, she went to Los Angeles, CA. She remained in Los Angeles for six months and returned to Kilgore for Christmas where she reunited with and married Robert W. Camp in 1970. One child, Robert D. Camp was born to the family.

After their marriage, Christine and Robert moved to Tyler, Texas. She was employed by the Imperial America Company and worked on the assembly line. Later, she became employed by Tyler Pipe Company as a machinist and remained there for nine years. Christine and their son subsequently joined Robert where she became employed by the city of Dallas in the Parks and Recreation Section as a maintenance worker.

Christie was preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers J.D., Levon, and Ray, and his sister Mae D. Crockett.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Robert W. Camp, son Robert D. Camp, five sisters; Earlene Jackson, Erma Jean Thompson, Margie Square, Faye Walton, and Randi King; one brother Ezell Lynch, aunts Bertha Ellis, Thelma Thompson, and Cleorniece Hall, one granddaughter Jordaeshia, three grandsons David, Magic, and Ray, two great-grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and beloved church family.
