Carrie Williams was born May 10, 1923, in Gregg County, Texas to the late Felix and Melissa Mae Daniels Blue. She was the third of ten children. Carrie attended North Chapel School in Kilgore, Texas. She confessed her belief in Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Pleasant Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Kilgore, Texas. She served in the capacities of Senior Choir President and a Stewardess. She enjoyed worshipping and supporting church activities until her health began to fail. She was employed by Camp Fannin, North Chapel ISD and later transferred to Sabine ISD for 30 years. In 1943 she united in marriage to Raymond Williams, Sr. the love of her life.To this union a son and daughter was born (Callie and Raymond Williams, Jr.) She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and one sister. Carrie leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Callie Mae (Bill) Harvey of Kilgore, Texas; one son, Raymond Williams, Jr. (Janet Thurmond) of Kilgore, TX; two sisters, Eva Lacy of Longview, TX; and Clara Byrd of Kansas City, MO; one brother Lee Rufus Blue of Dallas, TX; she was adored by her grandchildren and great grandchildren La Shell Harvey of Dallas, TX. Lie Quan Byrd of Longview, TX. and Lauren Hudson of Dallas, TX; Carrie often called Aunt Sister or Sister had a special relationship with all of her nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends. She enjoyed talking daily to her special friends, Barbara Hilburn, Elena Johnson, Bernice Gray and Lorraine Palmer. If Carrie was with us today she would tell us that she fought a good fight and have finished her course, I have kept the faith. God has promised me three scores and ten and I have lived far beyond my promised years.
