Bernice Dudley Jones

Sister Bernice Dudley Jones born the seventh child on January 27, 1941 to Mr. Willie Lee and Mrs. Essie Mae Dudley in Rusk County, Texas. Sister Jones attended public schools in Fredonia and graduated from Fredonia High School. She furthered her education and became a Certified Dietician and also worked in Child Care until she relocated from Austin to Longview. At an early age, she united with the Harmony Pirtle Baptist Church. She met and married Mr. John Smith; no children were born to this union. She later married Mr. Leo Jones who preceded her in death. Sister Jones was a member of the Greater Swenson Grove Baptist Church in Austin, Texas where she was very faithful in the church. She relocated to Longview and united with the Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church and later moved her membership to the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and remained until her death. She was very active in church attendance and services until her health failed. She is preceded in death: her parents, siblings: Benny, Billy, Charles, Ruth and Lillie. She leaves to cherish her memories: 2 brothers, Curtis (Betty) Dudley, Longview, Texas and Travis Dudley, Kilgore, Texas. 3 sisters: Shirley (Sylvester) Marshall, Grand Prairie, Texas, Rena Scott and Mary (Reverend Charles) Gray, Longview, Texas. A very special niece, Carolyn Register, Kilgore, Texas. Host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
