Aubrey Neal Durham

Aubrey Neal Durham was born January 22, 1959 to the parentage of Bruce Earl Daniels and Dolly Jean Jones at Kilgore Hospital. He attended Kilgore ISD where he participated in football, acapella choir as well as working full time at Good Shepherd Medical Center where he met the love of his life and best friend Pamela Coates.

After graduating from Kilgore High School in 1978 he enlisted in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge due to health issues. Shortly after, Aubrey or better known by family and friends as Neal aka “FATBOY” united in marriage to Pamela Coates and to this union one child was born Tasarirshe Tachaka Durham.

Neal worked in various fields including health care for many, many years, maintenance therapy, and his favorite of all cooking. As well as traveled the states before retiring and returning home to Kilgore, TX in 2009 where he lived and laughed till his last breath on Saturday, June 20, 2020.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, mother Dolly Jean Jones, father Bruce Earl Daniels, brother Christopher Michael Durham, uncle Timothy Johnson, cousins Clifford Pollard (Booster), Larry Dunn Johnson, Nina Durham, stepfather Alonzo Hershal Durham, stepmother Dorothy Durham, and father-in-law Joe Nathan Coates.

Neal leaves to cherish his memories: wife Pamela Durham; daughters Tasarirshe Tachaka Durham, Aries Williams-Durham, her mother Carolyn Williams; sons Christopher M. Durham, his mother Lisa Starr, Jared Lockwood, his mother Maggie Lockwood; sisters Marilyn Toombs and Cid Charrise Meadows, brothers Eric Daniels and Stacey McDonald; brother/best friend Lynn Carr (Frosty Man); mother-in-law Corine Coates; sister-in-law; very special friends Linda Scott and Debra Danzy “Squirrel”; as well as daughter-in-law’s, eight grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends and acquaintances.
