Arthur James Manning Sr.

Arthur was born to the late Fred Manning and Mary Horsely on February 19, 1933 in Gregg County. He gained his wings on October 13, 2019.

He attended Kilgore Colored School and after graduation he enrolled into the United States Army. After serving his country for many years he worked for Tri-State until they went out of business. He went on to work for Richardson Enterprise until his retirement.

He married Annie Mae Clayton and to this union five children were born.

He is preceded in death by his parents, children Annie Marie Manning Lawler, Mary Ellen Manning, and Arthur James Manning Jr., one brother Robert T. Manning, and four sisters Auzzie B. Campbell, Freddie Mae Manning, Marlee Manning, and Earleen Manning Roy.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Curly Manning Sr. (Mildred), Wilma Manning (Robert), Stephanie Manning, Arthur James Manning III, adopted kids Kathy B. Holmes, and Keion Brittain; three brothers J.B. Manning (Ruby), Junior Manning, and Cecil Manning; one sister Carrie Nell Stanford; three grandchildren April Lawler, April Manning, and Curly Manning Jr.; one great-grandson Curly James Manning Jr.; special friend Katherine Brittain and a host of other relatives and friends.
