Alice Faye Camp-Boyd was born to the union of Elzra C. and Gladys Johnson Camp on March 28, 1949 in Tyler, Texas. Alice attended Jackson Public Schools where she graduated Salutorian of the Class of 1967. She also attended Tyler Junior College where she received her Associates Degree in Biology and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1987.
Alice accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She was baptized at Chapel Hill C.M.E Church where she served in several capacities for several years. She joined the Upper Room Baptist Church in 1998 where she was the church musician and was a faithful organist, Alice loved the Lord and was a faithful and obedient servant.
On February 26, 1972 she married Carl E. Boyd and they equally loved the Lord. She was a loyal employee for twenty-seven years at Mother Frances Hospital working in the Cath Lab and EP Lab. Prior to nursing, she was employed at Levi-Strauss. Alice was a God-fearing woman, faithful wife and loved her family dearly.
Alice was preceded in death by her mother, father, grandparents, and one son. Left with cherished memories: husband of 43 years, Carl E. Boyd; Sons Chadwick O. Boyd (Sandy), Ryan C. Boyd, Charles E. Boyd (Shawn); Daughters: Andrea Boyd-Greenhouse (Roger), Sonja J. Boyd-Sackor (Moyayah); Sister Carolyn J. Ford: 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; Niece; Andreana D. Ford; Nephew: Howard S. Ford: a host of other relatives and friends.
